Several days ago, my touring buddy and friend Dave and I were almost ready to ride out of the South Fork Resort in Logman Idaho and we were filling our water bottles for the day and I happen to see this nice attractive couple who were seating on the deck and they asked us where we were going, so after the regular conversation they said they were going our direction and I personally wanted a day off but Dave wanted to ride but there were hot springs in our horizon so I asked Ridgeline John and Kristen if we could get bump and they said yes, Dave was a little hesitant but I overulled any hesitation and of we were of to Boneville Hot springs…so we got to spent a day of soaking in these amazing springs and having a great night of camping and fraternizing. The next couple of days were amazing going over some 5, 6, 7 and 8 thousand foot passess and we got into Stanley, Idaho and had an amazing time meeting people at the Saloon, watching a live band performing and socializing. The next day we climb an almost 9 thousand foot pass and came down into Ketchum next to Sun Valley and were coming inot Haley when on father’s day Ridgeline John sent a text offering me a room at Wood River Inn hotel and resort. What an amazing gesture from a human being witth just kindness and fascination about a traveler on a quest to see a little more of the world and meet the people that makes this journey unforgetable. I could go on and write more about how this makes me feel but my point is that I want to simply share the kindness of a stranger who is compelled to extend generosity and compassion to a total stranger. Every one of us has a perspective into what does it mean for someone to extend kindness to us but what doesn’t change is that we are all human and kindness is more prevelant that all the negativity that is injected in our lives by the media and lack of experience because we are not willing to come out of our unconfortable safe zone that is making us desensitise to kindness and what this nature and world has to offer and we should experience in appreciation because time is precious and we only go around once… so cheers to you Ridgeline John and Kristen and not only will I reciprocate your gesture to others and keep telling my story based on my own experience but I will do it with the goal to make others compelled to practice what is good in this world.
